Professional social network LinkedIn is alleviating some of the headache around the job application process by letting its English speaking members submit applications from their smartphones without the hassle of attaching a formal resume.
The company said Monday that its job-seeking members on iOS and Android will find a new “Apply” button in the latest version of the LinkedIn application.
People who choose the mobile option will be guided through a short process that prompts them to review and update their professional social-networking profile. LinkedIn will then deliver the pseudo application, with the profile standing in for a more traditional resume, to the employer in question.
