Facebook hires first marketing chief from Motorola Mobility Aug 5th 2013, 07:09
A year after going public, Facebook apparently believes it’s time to hire its first-ever chief marketing officer.
Gary Briggs, who was formerly the marketing chief at Motorola Mobility, has been hired by the social-networking giant to lead the company’s marketing efforts, according to AdAge. Briggs replaced VP of product marketing Eric Antonow, who has supervised Facebook’s marketing efforts for the past three years.

Upon Google’s completion of its $ 12.5 billion takeover of Motorola Mobility a year ago, Briggs was appointed Motorola’s CMO after serving as vice president of consumer marketing at the Web giant.
Briggs said in a statement to AdAge that he was excited by the new challenge.
